2012 Corolla AC not working

Hi Scotty,

My parents have a 2012 Toyota Corolla with about 40k miles on it and the AC isn't working. Since they are retired and on a fixed income I want to try to get it running for them and avoid the dealer.

The fan is blowing and the system is charged - what are the next steps to troubleshooting the AC system?  Any common issues with the 2012 Corolla?

Thanks,

Angelo

Not any particular problems but often they just go low in refrigerant you think it's full but you have to hook up low and high pressure gauges and see if it's running the low is about 30 and the high is about 180 or 190 in this kind of weather. But if it is full put electricity to the clutch unplug it and put power from the positive battery terminal and if it doesn't even spin then then the compressor shot

Have you checked the cabin filter? It may not ever have been changed and could keep air from circulating through the vents.
