hey Scotty i have a 2012 dodge avenger sxt plus that has a weord noise coming from the side of the engine.. no check enging lifhst are on and its not overheating.. what could it be.. i was thinking it could be the timing belt.

Can you post a video of your sound? It might be as simple as the tension on the belt or an idler pulley going bad but we can't tell from the vague description.

upon further investigating.. it sounds like its the air intake maifold area.. sounds like when a vaccum has something stick in it.
