I have a 2012 F150 Lariat 4x4 with Ecoboost engine. On start up - especially on cool or cold days - it sounds and feels like there is a rubbing/grinding noise and feel in the front center/transmission as we drive at low speed. After several minutes it appears to go away. Once the vehicle is "warmed up" it appears fine and handles/sounds normally. Dealer replaced several pinion gears...problem has resurfaced again after about 6 - 9 months. Any ideas?
Did you ever figure this issue out? I am having this exact same problem. Same year truck.

Check the u joints on both drive shafts for proper lubrication of the zerk fittings.
