My truck has an auto climate control module that has been whacky for a long time. When the vehicle is started and it's either hot or cold out the climate control kicks on and turns the fan up to high. When it does it often will blow on a high for a bit then will shut down (the fan shuts down while everything else looks to be on). Then if I power cycle the climate control & immediately switch to manual fan adjustment I can usually get it work. Lately even that has been a struggle. I replaced a cheap part related to the fan a good while ago figuring I'd see if the the cheap part fixed the problem...it didn't. I guess I generally believe it to be the Auto climate control module being the problem. When I do a search online for more "reasonably" priced (sub $250 - when I originally looked a few years ago they were asking $750+) replacements I get manual modules or auto with seat cooling buttons (mine has seat heaters, but not chillers). Anyhow...can use an auto with the cooling buttons or the manual module in my truck? I haven't opened the dash to see the connectors.
Yeah those things are disaster areas waiting to happen. The only way anyone can analyze it is to use a high and scan tool like I have the cost. Many thousands of dollars and do bisdirectional testing to see if it's the module or the wiring or any of the various sensors or actuators that have gone bad. Otherwise you're just guessing
