My 2012 Ford Escape's tire pressure monitor system dash alert comes on intermittently. Dealership was going to dig deeper, but couldn't get any parts so sent it home. When the light (and *ding*) comes on, smacking the dash makes it go away for a while. It seems to be related to the AC system because the fan slows and the air warms when acting up. And clears up after a smack. Also, running without AC and the alert never comes back. Any idea how to narrow down what's wrong? Can't leave the thing at the dealer forever because there are no rentals these days!

Start with load test the battery and alternator.
