Poor gas mileage after transmission rebuild

Hello, love your videos very informative.  So recently we our escape transmisson rebuilt, 147000 km. From what I know these are very common problems. Anyways it's a 6 speed auto, 1.6l 6 cylinder I think with ecoboost. Now I have had another mechanic drive it (feel fine to him) and we just think it's still not running quite right, maybe it's just break in period? My friend drove it and said it feels solid but first thing in morning when cold it can tend to slam into gear but will eventually get smoother as it warms up. Next is the mileage, used to get between 600 to 700 km to a tank now it's almost half that. It was fixed Dec 4th and it's now Jan 6th. We don't put alot of mileage on it to begin with so mostly short trips. Any ideas whst the issue is or is this just a waiting game with the computer ironing things out. The tranny people have diagnosed with computer 1 to 2 weeks after and say there's nothing wrong or csnt find anything. I haven't been back since as we were waiting more break in period.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well basically they are full of crap. They didn't rebuild it correctly. If it slams into gear they did not rebuild it correctly. That's the problem guys claim they can do something. They have no idea what they're doing and then when they're done they just blame it on. Oh, it's it's electronic or it's the computer or you have to break it in. The transmission is rebuilt correctly. It needs no breaking in. For example, when you buy a new car you don't have to break the transmission in. It works perfectly fine. They have just screwed you over. I would hire a lawyer if I were you
