2012 Ford Focus 5MT noise

Hey Scotty I have a 2012 Ford Focus SE with the 2.0L non-turbo flex fuel engine and the 5 speed manual transmission. I recently put a lot of work into the car including a full engine tune up and the front wheel hub assemblies replaced.

I also had the transmission fluid and filter replaced with OEM Ford fluid. The vehicle has 92,000 miles on it. It has slowly developed a grinding/ticking noise at idle in neutral, when the engine is revved at any rev range in neutral, and in any forward gear. I haven’t noticed the noise in reverse. I’ve had my mechanic drive it and they listened to the transmission and can’t find the source of the noise. They are telling me that something internal is wrong and the car needs a transmission and clutch and flywheel replacement.

ive been reading online about the class action suit against Ford for the focus transmissions, but I haven’t been able to find anything for the manual. I called Ford corporate and the two dealers in my town and they told me to pound sand. I love the car and it runs great other than the noise. The clutch doesn’t slip although in 4th gear the shifter moves forward towards neutral when I let off the accelerator. I am in Arizona so I don’t think weather has anything to do with it.

please give me any advice you can I greatly appreciate it. Thanks and keep up with all the good things you do for people.

Did you check the lemon laws for this vehicle even though it's a manual?

I’ve done research on it and haven’t found anything, I am only able to find stuff for the automatic Powershift transmissions

It may be the clutch pedal itself. Check the pedal because that could be where the noise is coming from.

I just checked it it doesn’t behave any differently that it has been
