Hey Scotty, I recently bought a 2012 Ford fusion s with 107,000 miles and I was wondering if I should change the transmission fluid. My grandma has the same car but with 56,764 miles should she change it too? I heard that changing the fluid could cause slipping is that true? Thanks I know this is a long question.
changing transmission fluid is regular maintenance. Keep on top of it!
The only time when you would not change the transmission fluid is when the car has 200k+ mileage and it hasn't been touched at all. I would change the transmission fluid now-drain and refill.
Yours is very iffy, if it’s shifting ok still and not giving you problems I would do it, BABY that transmission. grandma should be changing hers every 60k so she’s about due.
