2012 GMC Acadia without tow package.

Recently bought 2012 Acadia SLT-2, I wanted an SUV that we planned to tow a small camper, looked up the specs of my car using the VIN code and it claimed the max to capacity was 5200 pounds which was perfect.

Bought new tires for it and was reading the owners manual and it says that it can only tow 5200 is with the optional V92 tow package and that is supposedly the only difference and package does not upgrade Engine or Transmission.

Is there anything that I can do to get my car to tow the heavier load

From what I read in owners manual the v92 package is Hitch, wiring with 7 pin connector, HD Radiator and a Tow/Haul button, without v92 it is rated for 2000 pounds and we needed 3500 to 4000.

About all you can really do is trade it for a replacement vehicle that has suitable towing capacity and make sure it's equipped for what you need.

probably not

Those are not the most reliable vehicles around and probably not a good idea to stress it by towing over 5000 pounds.

However, leaving that aside, what you should probably do is investigate exactly what the "V92" tow package brings to the table. Aside from a trailer hitch and associated wiring for lights, I would expect possibly a bigger radiator, transmission cooler, heavy-duty suspension, maybe bigger brakes. Once you know what the towing package includes you can judge the feasibility of adding those items.

... different final drive ratio, transmission tow mode switch, upgraded transmission parts, larger displacement engine, etc.
It may be difficult/impossible to find accurate technical information about this.
