My fiance has a 2012 jeep patriot, with 203,000 miles, 2.4l cvt transmission, automatic. On hot days after driving for 30 mins at 50 mph, the trans over heating light comes on and it makes a loud winning noise. The vehicle still shifts fine, everyday. There is no trouble codes or any other lights on. During winter, it drives perfect. I have noticed when driving long distance, the hood and underneath gets so hot it's hard to touch. The trans fluid is filled and it look healthy too. Do you think changing the filters out will fix this issue?

You should have it scanned with a pro-grade scan tool to check for transmission codes. When is the last time that CVT fluid was changed?
