Hi Scotty!
I have a question! I got the error code p0744 about a 3 months ago. Car is still running but gas mileage is pretty crappy. I notice the transmission start slipping when I'm on the highway so I tend to avoid it now lol
My question is, should I have the torque converter changed on my '13 Nissan Rogue with the possibility that it won't fix the problem and I'll need to change the entire transmission or let it run until it doesn't?
The cost of the repair most likely will be more than that vehicle is worth. The Jatco CVTs used on those are terrible, chances are the entire transmission needs to be replaced.
That's what I thought. Spoke to a technician yesterday and he said absolutely can't rebuild those. Need a new one straight from Nissan.
You didn’t mention the mileage, but when was the CVT fluid last changed? -

Ask some more, a lot of people do rebuild them all around the world.
So I'm 34 and have owned 3 cars and I never knew I needed to change tranny fluid. Shame on me. Also, 160k miles.
Bummer - needs a change every 30-50K miles.
