I have a 2008 Honda Odyssey LX with 175,000 miles on it. In the last 3 months the front suspension feels like there is no front struts on this van even though the struts are one year old.
When I hit a bump in the road( like an expansion joint on a city street or a hi-way) it feels like the whole suspension fell off the van. It jars me so bad that I thought someone ran into me while driving
My first thought was the struts are bad after a year old. Then I thought the control arms are bad. The rear of the van is not that bad, but it has a mild jar at the same time when I go over any joint in the road.
Anyway, I appreciate any thoughts you maybe have on this problem before I take it into a shop. I can not trust some of these shops anymore and value your opinion before those guys.

Not sure about the brand of struts on the 2008 Honda Odyssey. Bought it 3 years ago from dealer near me.
Very tough to tell what it is from a distance. Cheap struts would definitely do it though. I'd get a good front-end shop to take a look at it. (Not a dealer and not a chain shop.)
What brand struts were installed? Were they "quick" struts?

I wonder if the subframe rubber supports are bad enough to cause the van to feel like direct hit on the front? Lots of possibilities what it could be.
All I know it feels like someone ran into me when I hit a expansion joint or a pothole in the road. My other 2008 Honda rides like a big luxury car...nice and smooth ride.
