2012 Kia Sedona.

My moms Kia Sedona has the timing chain problem but… we have plans on fixing it. But when she cold starts it. She Dosent let it idle down she puts it in  drive and the rpms go from High to low real quick is that bad? And they found shavings of meatl in the oil.

Your engine is only getting worse from now. If you are getting that fixed, change it NOW.

Timing chain issues with metal shaves in the oil:

Time to look for another car.

That thing is at end-of-life. If there are metal shavings in the engine the damage is already done. Best to get rid of it while it's still worth something.
