Hello Scotty. My is Danuel Gates. And me and my wife own a 2012 Kia sorento with 14200 miles on the dash. We have been having a few issues with it since we got it a month or two ago. One issue is the transmission is revving in 1 and 2 gear with a loss of power, but after you get pass 1 and 2 it still takes time to gain speed and don't rev until we stop or slow down. We have had two transmissions put in and it still does the same thing in the same gears. We have had the cat cut off so it cant be that. So can you give me some insight on what it could be. No codes no check engine light or any light on the dash
The check engine light will not necessarily light up for transmission-related codes. The vehicle needs to be scanned with a dealer-level scan tool.
You said you changed the transmission. Could you tell us the reason for that?
It was slipping in 1 and 2 gear even when you use manual shift
Unfortunately, the symptoms you have now is related to the transmission. I would take it to a transmission pro who works on Kia and have him scan the transmission before spending money.
I had them flash the tcm and still no good
It sounds like this place is installing bad transmissions. Are they used? "Rebuilt" in the shop? Today's transmissions are so complex they can really only be factory rebuilt.
