- Dear Mr. Scotty, i have recently asked about my mini smoking, it was because a bad piston ring that i didnt take care of, BUT after i fixed the car i started it and it worked perfectly fine for 2 hours, then i realised that the car was low on oil and the oil light came on, turned it if, added oil, started well for 20 minutes then it got a TERRIBLE misfire, it was only running on 2 cylinders i think then it shut off, i then went to try and start it, it runs very very rough for 2 or 3 seconds then dies, i tried when starting giving it gas but it felt that the gas pedal isnt working, i brought a mechanic he didnt know whats wrong, SO PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

I would assume however fix the Piston Ring didn't do such a hot job to fix piston rings just to tear the engine apart if you're doing that you're much better rebuilding the engine or often just throwing the engine away and trying to either a good low mileage used engine or a remanufactured one
But taking an engine department put it back together take so much work many things could have been messed up wiring sensors timing chain lots of things could be messed up pray it's not the engine
