Can I prevent Camry transmission issues

Hi,

I just bought a used 2012 Toyota Camry. It has about 80,000 miles on it. I have been reading about the transmission issues this model has. (Torque converter)

The car I have runs and drives great. Is there anything I can do to help prevent the issues with the transmission?

Change the fluid and filter about every 50K miles.

There's nothing you can do unfortunately. The 4-cyl transmissions are defective. Personally I would get rid of the car.

So it is OK to change the fluid at 80,000 miles?
