Hi Scotty,
I have a 2012 Toyota Sequoia with 140,000 miles. It's an automatic. Not a 4-wheel drive. It did not throw any OBDII codes when I checked. It's making a rattling noise that I think might be the lifters. Could you show me how to tell if this is the issue? If it is the issue, is there an inexpensive way to fix the lifters?
Thank you,
Sue G.
I think might be the lifters.
How do you know?
Have you tried taking the belt off?
See our FAQ for noise troubleshooting.

Can you post a link to a video demonstrating the noise?

No.
However it may be something else. Typically worn lifters would make a ticking noise. Rattles are frequently caused by loose or corroded heat shields.
