[Solved] 2013 Acura MDX AC Problem

I have a 2013 Acura MDX.  The problem that I am having is with the air conditioner.  It starts off cold, but when you drive the car for a while, eventually it stops blowing out cold air - just blows out warm air. Sometimes it kicks back in, sometimes it doesn't. One thing i did notice is that if the car is idle and you run the A/C, it never shuts off, seems to be happening only when the car is running.  I have taken to the dealer a few times to check out - but unfortunately, every time it goes in, the A/C is working perfectly. Maybe because it is just idling, they didn't take it for a ride.  They did put a dye in last year, it doesn't appear to be leaking.  And it was charged as well.  I know there could be so many reasons this is happening, I just didn't want them dealership to start changing out parts when they don't know for sure what it is.

What are the system pressures? Bear in mind that if your blend door is acting up that can cause an apparent lack of cooling.

It would be better to stay away from the dealer and have a real AC technician diagnose the problem.

Thanks for the feedback - I really appreciate it. I will have to be on the lookout for a real AC technician. This problem is so frustrating - just when you think it is going to work, it shuts off again!!

The problem with these modern automotive HVAC systems is that they are computer controlled and unless there is an obvious mechanical failure a high-end bidirectional scan tool and specialized knowledge are required for diagnosis.
