2012 Honda Civic, 59000 /kms, Automatic, no OBDII codes (scanned)
Hey Scotty, I have a weird noise on my Civic which i think is coming from the tranny. It happens on a very low speed/gear (on 1st/2nd gears) and when i very lightly step on the accelerator. It almost sounds like an alternator bearing noise but It goes away on higher gears or speed. I have no problems with the shifting though and there are no codes. It's just that it's a bit too loud. Thoughts?
there are no codes
Transmission codes are typically not read by inexpensive generic scanners. Even if using a higher-end scan tool there are of course no "codes" for worn gears or bearings, if that's the cause.
Noises can telegraph all over a car. You might want to try isolating where the noise is actually coming from.

Yea, i think i have to invest a device like that if I want to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. BTW, the sound/noise is actually quite subtle and you won't hear it when playing musick but as an owner you tend to hear or notice more stuff on your vehicle than somebody else.
