Ticking Noise While Accelerating and Decelerating

I have a 2018 Honda Accord 1.5L with 78k miles and recently started hearing a ticking noise coming from the front driver's side. The ticking frequency increases when accelerating from 0 to 30 mph, reappears around 30 mph, and fades when coming to a stop. The noise occurs only when the car is moving, even in neutral. There’s no ticking when the engine is idling or revved while stationary, and no warning lights on the dash.

I took it to a Honda service center, and they blamed the transmission, advising me to wait until a warning light appears to figure out the problem. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any insights on what it could be?

Any help would be appreciated.

It's best not to go to a dealer for service except for warranty or recall repairs. A good independent mechanic who will do some actual diagnosis, like using a fancy scan tool to look at transmission data if that is suspect.

Noises can telegraph all over a car and might not even be coming from where they seem to be. Of course rotating assemblies like bearings and CV axles should be checked, but a noise-finding device like the ones  Scotty has demonstrated might be helpful in locating the actual source.
