Just putting this here in case anyone else with a 10th gen civic (model year 2016-2021) has this problem:
87,000 miles on my 2020 civic and... transmission front seal went out, slow leaking on the bell housing, caught it early. Fluid is golden like oil, so hard to tell difference until I had Honda dealer do a dye test to check it. Sending this note because just want to help out the community. Apparently the 1.5t engine is known for destroying these seals over time because the turbo power adds pressure on the CVT transmission. Honda gets to warranty it for that, drop my trans to fix it. (Bought it with the 100k mile warranty.) This marks the first ever issue I've actually had on my civic, perfect maintenance record and it still blew a seal out.
Thanks for the heads up. Another case of EPA regulation killing cars.
