Hey Scotty,
I am looking at buying a 2013 Toyota Camry. I have heard that they are known for transmission shudder issue when driving at around 50 mph for 2012-2014 models. Should I buy it?
What would be the fix if I had to fix it and how much does it cost?
That is not a common issue the 6 speed autos are bulletproof make sure to road test it anyways if it does do that then do not buy it. They are very well made especially in those years. I looked up complaints and transmission issues are rare but in the event that it does occur usually it is some kind of shaking, according to carcomplaints. If a mechanic says the transmission is fine I would not hesitate to get one the AISIN 6 speed auto in the Camrys are one of the best automatic transmissions ever made.
They don't all shudder but if you road test and it does don't buy it you have to rebuild the whole tranny cost you three to five grand
