Scotty, my wife's Escapes rear starts growling as soon as the car moves. My mechanic said he's noticed it's gotten a bit louder since the last inspection. I was wondering what it may be, is it in the rear or could it be a wheel bearing. It is an AWD vehicle. Thanks for any help.

check your rear differential oil. you must use original oil only. if the growling squeeks check your break drums break discs, too much rust there makes loud sound.can you upload a picture?

Jack it up and get your ear closer so you can find out where its coming from.
