Hi Scotty, 2 years ago I purchased a 2013 Lexus RX 350 (FWD - Automatic) with 70K miles, currently it sits at 96,000 miles. However, over the last year I've had a rattle that has become very present in the steering column when driving down rough roads or going over small bumps. Also, when sitting stationary I can jerk the wheel left to right and hear a clicking/popping noise. Outside the noise - The handling of the car doesn't seem to be affected. I've read that Toyota/Lexus have had issues with the Electronic Steering System more specifically a plastic damper that is used in the motor of the electric steer system but I cannot seem to find that particular part for my make & year so I'm not even sure if that issue pertains to me. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ben R.
Well it often is that part. If you really want to figure what it is, watch my video finding the source of car noises and a machine like that can pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from
