my daughter heat recently went out. when she puts the heat on her car shuts off . her mechanic wants to replace her ac compressor. What does that have to do with her heat and car shutting off?

Well when you turn the heater on I'm defrosted a modern car the AC compressor comes on to to make it dry but if she only wants pure heat I would go to a different mechanic to see what they say could you can fix just the heat it won't defrost as well if the AC doesn't work but you'll still have heat
