Hey Scotty,
I have a 2013 Subaru Impreza wagon with a CVT transmission. I got the vehicle serviced at the Subaru dealership at 70,000 miles, and ever since the the transmission makes a weird grinding noise when accelerating quickly. It didn’t make the noise before they changed the transmission fluid. I went back and they “took a look at it” and “everything looks perfectly fine”. It definitely doesn’t feel like it. What are the best options from here?
Do you know if they did a transmission flush or if they just did a drain and fill? Sounds like they did a flush which you never want to do.
Any Subaru specialist mechanics in your area? Like @yaser said you should have a mechanic check it out and most likely they flushed it in typical dealership fashion which started problems.
I would take it to another mechanic shop (specialized in transmission) and have them scan it to find out all the issues and then comeback to the dealer. As @Mod_Man said, they probably flushed the transmission, simply because they can charge you more compared to drain and refill. You can also find out from the receipt they gave you.
