  1. Scotty, 2013 Toyota Rav4 LE, FWD, 52K miles. When stop on the light with brake pedal pressed in Drive my RPMs drop and car starts shaking. Noticed it in December of 2020 first time. Replaced: alternator, spark plugs, coils, MAF sensor, cleaned throttle body. RPMs now stay at 750, but vibration still exist. If you put car in Drive, apply hand brake on and let the brake go, RPMs go up and vibration goes away. Press the brake pedal and rpm drops again and vibration comes back. In Park or Neutral engine works like a clock, no problems. What is the problem?

When you get it scanned, post the codes here so we can help further.

How about the battery and alternator load tested either one or both could be.if not that there's a real problem in your brake light electronic shorting out the system

Thx for response. Tested battery and alternator. The old alternator was going to around 12.8 volts when put in Drive and back above 13 volts when back to Park. With the new alternator didnt test yet.

Gonna need a scan tool for this issue. Don’t ever replace parts without the proper diagnosis.

You are right. This Wed going to auto shop to scan it.
