Let me start by saying "not my car." I dont care for German auto and only know general theory of diesels.
Owner states "Nox sensor code" and P1007. Car makes a mechanical noise (loud ticking) only under load. No noticeable noises during deaccel or coasting. And I can not replicate noise with car sitting in neutral. The car also has an intermittent lost of power under hard accel.
I already suggested sensor and cleaning fuel system with conditioner and replacing fuel filter since he just bought from used car dealer.
I'm just looking for insight into probable causes and if they're related. Certain I'm not equipped to do the job but if I can help them I will.

Ty for the response. I found this before posting. Unfortunately I dont have a fsm or equivalent on hand atm. The info given is good yet too vague with what I have in front of me.
