Just returned to the States after working/living overseas for 19 years and am looking for a used SUV and so far like what I see with these.
I will be using it for work, so really like the fuel mileage.
What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

As an owner of a Jeep with a diesel, my recommendation is to pick something else. My 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD (166,000 miles) is still running, but it is a hassle to work on, and most mechanics do not know how to fix Italian diesel engines.

It would be a wiser move to go with a Japanese SUV, in my opinion.

Avoid the 3.0L Ecodiesel V6 in that vehicle!  FCA is already not known for quality/reliability, and now with that Italian VM Motori Diesel engine it’s a double whammy.  See video below at 3:10

There is so much I can say about this vehicle but its an hour till midnight all I have to say is that is probably the worst modern SUV the engine is a contender for the worst diesel engine plz don't buy it lol

Look for a different vehicle. Consider the Toyota Highlander. Check out the Used Car Buying Guide to find information on almost all aspects of car buying. The Jeep is listed as one of the most problematic vehicles on many many many owner reliability sites. The vehicle is Italian quality and I'd like to say horrible but that's an understatement.

You came on the Scotty Kilmer forum asking if buying a FCA product is a good idea.

Cmon man

Superiority complex?

@G-T

I didn’t say it to offend. It’s just if you’ve ever watched a Scotty Kilmer video about FCA 98% of the time he’s not going to say anything good about the vehicles manufactured by them. Has absolutely zero to do with a superiority complex.

Cmon man

I watch Scotty's videos and I know what he says. I think if topic starter knew the answer, he would not ask the question.
I think this forum is about helping people and does not require any car knowledge from them.
So, cmon man

@G-T I don’t understand? I feel like what I said wasn’t bad or offensive probably blunt. If you think about it what I said could’ve maybe saved this person from buying crap and wasting money. You’re clearly offended by what I said that’s a you problem I get that. But don’t come after me for being blunt and honest.

What don't you understand?
I don't feel offended and it wasn't my purpose to offend you.

@G-T I don’t understand why you felt you needed to say anything to me. Clearly what I said bothered you because you just had to say something to me about my comment. I’m not offended whatsoever , as I said from the beginning. I don’t understand why you even felt you had to say something at all.

Your answer draw my attention and I was curious why you had written it that way.

@G-T Fair enough 👍

@G-T didn’t mean to come off as an a$$ earlier. I just call things how is see them and I get how it can seem to look like belittling or something but definitely don’t mean it that way at all. I’m on here to help and advise where I can and receive the same. Carry on.

Awesome, thanks for that!
Looks like I'll be going with Toyota instead.
