2014 Acura MDX changing surging and dropping RPMS at 40MPH

Hi Scotty, I have a 2014 Acura MDX with the 6cyl VTech w/ automatic. 80,000 miles.  Bought it used.  Starting at 40MPH when trying to maintain speed and going up a slight grade, without making any change to the throttle, the engine RPMs starting surging and dropping over and over.  1500, 2000, 1500, 2000.  Makes the passengers sick from bucking back and forth.  You can gun the engine and it will down shift and accelerate.  Problem is thats not my driving style.  Why is the engine pulsing.  My previous 2006 MDX didn't do that, very smooth.  I want some info before I take it in for service.  Your help is much appreciated.

Well unfortunate for my experience with those things it is often a transmission starting to fail which costs a fortune. Now something like a fuel pump that's going out could do that lots of computer failure problems could do that so do have a pro Acura mechanic check it out with this dealer scan tool on a road test because when it bucks his computer will memorize the data and he can analyze it pray it isn't the transmission but I would guess it is

Did you ever change the transmission fluid in the thing? Latest Honda PCM software update installed?

Would also check the throttle body.
