[Solved] BMW E36 318I (M42B18 GETRAG S5D 250G)

My e36 has a weird vibration close to the shifter area. I already changed the flex disk, the driveshaft center bearing, and pilot bearings but none of this has solved the vibration. What do you guys think could be the issue here?

Pd: Transmission mounts are in good condition, same for the engine mounts.

Maybe the input shaft bearing?

I hate to mention this because it's a pain....but did you take a hard look at your dual mass flywheel when you had it apart? How about your clutch?

If your vibration is constant I would look at the clutch/flywheel assembly. If it's only under load then I would look into maybe something in the transmission, but you would usually hear that before you felt it.

My money's on the flywheel. Good luck with it.

Hey Alan, thanks for the info. I recently did the clutch on this car, bought everything from Sachs, Luk, and Bilstein which are OEM brands I think. The only thing I didn't change was the flywheel, since it actually was in good condition I just had it resurfaced (probably was not a good idea) lol.

So maybe it is the flywheel, I'm going to have to check that out.
