Greetings Scotty, I recently used you suggested 10 watt 1 ohm resistor inline to discoe'd battery cable ends on my 2006 Ford E-250 4.6ltr Van 😁
Super results ! It seemed to make the vehicle run smoother and cleared the check engine light, and weeks later she's still running well.
Check engine read Evap problem possible recirc hose trouble the truck said.
Anyway, I was so enthused I figured I'd help nephew out with some check engine light worries.
Did the hookup and routine then reattached the cables and Bingo No Change light still on 🙄
Being old school I chalked it up to being a " Foreign BMW " so any ideas or opinions on possibly why it didn't work ?
Thanks.

There is no realistic expectation that simply resetting the computer will solve every situation that turns the check engine light on. The way to address "check engine light worries" is to scan for the code(s) triggering the light and fix the underlying problem.
You need to get some kind of scan tool, and hook it up to search for codes. Your check engine light is on, so you will have codes stored.ย
