- Hey Scotty I'm interested in buying a 2014 toyota camry from private party. Have heard there has been problems with the torque converter. What is your thoughts? Thanks

What's on my problems but road test and have a mechanic check out and if it's not acting up now it probably won't

Yes those had some transmission shudder issues generally around 100k miles you really would want a mechanic to check it out those cars have a weak transmission from 2012-2017 the same unit was used there is a TSB for it, you can check it through the "Bulletins" link below.

My daughter's 2012 (same tranny) developed the shudder and a few thousand miles later the transmission failed... at 137000 miles.
