2014 camry with 153000 miles fully maintained until a year or 2 ago. I work for valvoline so what products do I need to get my engine cleaned out and save it
How do you know your engine needs to be cleaned out or "saved"?
Scotty does recommend ATS Carbon Clean for cleaning carbon and fuel systems.
@chucktobias maybe my question should have been what should I do and can I do it myself?
so just change my oil and use the carbon product that Scotty recommends? Is the engine just gonna die now?
You haven't answered how many miles were put on the car during that time. If only 6 or 7 thousand miles it's probably OK. If you put a more typical 10,000 to 20,000 miles per year for 2 years without changing the oil chances are the engine has been damaged.
You can try the carbon clean product and see if it helps but it's not going to clean up heavy sludge. Here's what an engine can wind up looking like inside when oil changes are neglected for many miles:

@chucktobias oh no!! 😭. Thank you Chuck
@kadis You could take off the valve cover and get an idea of how much sludge buildup you have. But I don't have much hope if the oil really has not been changed in 100K miles as you mention in another response.
@kadis The only saving grace is that to put that kind of mileage on in 2 years it must have been mostly highway miles. Even so, 100K miles is way too long for oil to last under any conditions.
@chucktobias what is the valve cover and I can check my ppw to see exact how many miles it’s been. After I thought about it, I’m with you, no way 100k has been put on. Sorry about that
@kadis That sounded like way too many miles for 2 years but it has been done. But even if half or a quarter of that it's still big trouble. The valve cover is at the very top of the engine and covers the camshafts and valves. If you're not familiar with it best to have a knowledgeable friend or a mechanic remove it to check for sludge.
@chucktobias gotcha I will get a picture of it and send to you in few days. Thanks for all your help and patience
I haven't changed my oil in almost 2 years. Wouldn't this have done some kind of damage
It depends on how many miles were put on during that time. If the engine has been physically damaged due to putting on high miles with no oil changes it's probably too late for any additive to help it.
@chucktobias so just change my oil and use the carbon product that Scotty recommends? Is the engine just gonna die now?
@chucktobias 100K but I don’t know if there’s any engine damage. I also have access to all VPS products and Kits.
100K but I don’t know if there’s any engine damage.
Sorry, but if you went 100K miles without oil changes that engine is toast.
I haven't changed my oil in almost 2 years. Wouldn't this have done some kind of damage
Also, I have been adding the valvoline full synthetic extended protection 0w20 from time to time
