Hey Scotty,
I see a 2009 Toyota Avalon XLS with 84k miles. The owner claims he can provide the maintenance records of it being well taken care of, the miles are original and reported and says the car is in immaculate condition in and out. At a price tag of $8500.00. I'd most definitely try and talk him down by the way. Would this car be a good buy for long term, affordable maintenance, repairs and parts costs? I refuse to buy brand new so what's your thoughts on this option?
You would need a good mechanic to give it a thorough inspection before purchase to determine whether it's a good buy at any price - and that asking price sounds too high for a car pushing 16 years old.
According to Kellley Blue Book it could be worth between $7201 and $9166 , if it's cleared by a mechanic.
Avalons have proven to be nice cars, reliable cars.
