Hi Scotty, I have a 2014 Chev Malibu LT with a 2.5 litre engine. I purchased this car new 7 years ago and it has 30,000 miles on it. 6 months ago the back up camera stopped working. The screen goes black when I put the car in reverse. No obvious signs of damage to the camera or screen. Any suggestions on a cause and fix would be very much appreciated. Love the channel. Thank you.

Try to reset it first by disconnect the battery and leave it for 10 min. If it did it work, check all the connections  Although odds are that the computer that controls the backup camera is acting up. Unfortunately, GM is not good with electronics.

Thank you for your reply Yaser.
Does the Start/Stop auxiliary battery located in the trunk also need to be disconnected?

I would disconnect it as well. But expect to have some subsequences after you put back everything, e.g the radio might need some code,...

Ok. I’ll try that. Once again, thank you.
