Hey Scotty my mom has a 2014 Chevy Impala with 83,000 miles and an automatic transmission. On Sunday when my dad was driving the car he said that the transmission was slipping what could be the reason?

impala are known to have transmission issues. live with it or change fluid more frequently

Make sure the transmission fluid is at the right level.
