I have a 2014 equinox, recently a few weeks ago started getting a service power steering warning, now when I get the warning I have fluctuating gauges , mph, rpm and coolant temp that fluctuate with a loss of acceleration. It doesn't happen all the time only when it starts to show service power steering and when I put it in reverse it shows the service parking assistance warning. I decided to replace the alternator and it's still continuing with the same problem I tried checking for any bad grounds from what I can see it does need front end suspension work that I have to get done cause most of the bushing are worn out already... Just cant seem to figure out why it going haywire every so often I connected my scanner and it shows loss connection to brake control module and when I try to scann the module it doesn't pick it up , it also shows all types of codes that loss connection with several modules as well my light dimmer in the dash doesn't work all the time my fog lights don't seem to work anymore as well but the other lights do. Was wondering if anyone came across a problem like this or have any idea what can be wrong.

Have you had your battery load tested? Checked battery cables and connectors for voltage drops? Also, did you install an OEM alternator? Parts store rebuilt alternators are frequently junk.

@chucktobias yes I used a multimeter and everything seems to be holding good charge 12.7 with the car off and 14.5 while running.

@chucktobias out of curiosity I have bad suspension and most likely a bad hub bearing I can move my tire from side to side when it's off the floor is it possible that the sensor could be throwing it off

That might affect your ABS and traction control.
