I currently drive a 2015 Altima with the 2.5 four cylinder and am wanting to go back to a pickup truck. Previously I drove my dads 2001 Tundra and loved everything about it but had to get something with a better gas mileage for college. With that not being much of an issue anymore, I’ve recently been looking into a 2014 F-150 with the 5.0 V8 and am wondering if this is right for me. They seem reliable and my current commute to work is about 30 miles of straight highway so I feel I can make due with the MPG’s. Is this a good and practical choice and when do you think the used truck market will start returning to normal? Any feedback is much appreciated!
I have a 15 5.0, I love the truck. Other than commuting is the truck going to tow or be used in any application a truck is supposed to be used for? For just a commuter I don’t think it’s practical. The 1st and 2nd gen 5.0 are overall a rock solid motor.
I don’t tow currently of course but I’m looking into getting back into hunting and when I do need to tow something it’s usually nothing more than an ATV or Ranger. Definitely holding off on making any purchase with the market right now. I currently own a 10 ft. Fishing kayak and am looking forward to actually being able to take it places again.
If there’s nothing wrong with your Altima at present, wait to buy any new/used vehicle.
The market is bonkers at present (specially for trucks), and who knows when things will get back to normal..
