Ive got a question.  This topic may have already been touched on, but a 3.5L v6 with an ecoboost. Would you recommend to avoid that? Im asking because im looking at getting another truck.  Ive been in a sedan for to long.  Right now im looking at either a 2014 Ford F150 4×4, a 2014 Toyota Tacoma 4×4 or a Nissan frontier in a 4×4. Yes it has to be a 4×4.  I like to go hunting.

Avoid the Ecoboost at all costs.  The only F-150 worth getting is with the naturally aspirated 5.0 V8 (Coyote).

Of those three, if you don’t plan to tow a lot of weight and want to keep it for as long as possible, I would get the Tacoma. As a bonus, it should have the best resale value but will cost you to purchase as well.

Definitely don’t want those 1st gen Ecoboost. Although I’m still not a fan the 2nd gen 2018-current is a WAY better motor. Maintenance is key to any motor but more so with these GDI twin turbo motors. Your preventive maintenance is cut in half compared to just a naturally aspirated motor. Personally I’m never buying a full size truck that doesn’t have a V8 in it.

The quality of Ford vehicles has gone directly down the El Bano for years now.  The only one I would buy is the Toyota Tacoma or Tundra.
