I found a 2014 Ford Focus for $500 with 89k miles, automatic.
Runs like a champ, ice cold AC
just has a smash in the back, of which is bend out able, just enough. So it’s legal on the road
Would a transmission from a 2014 ford fiesta fit a 2014 ford focus?
Im trying to find a extra transmission in case this ever goes.
I get these cars have a bad rap. But $500? Isn’t that cheap.
Even if I just saved it as a second car.
Well I realized they are pretty junky cars and if it's smashed then i wouldn't even mess with the stupid thing myself. The transmissions you can't just take one out of one and put it in another. It has to be reprogrammed because the design of the transmission. I wouldn't even mess with it if I were you
Well I found a 2013 Ford Focus smashed front end but still good engine and a manual trans for $500. Think it’s worth it if I get that, then I can swap it to manual?

Scotty doesn't answer questions more than once. They're junky cars, plain and simple, they're "SelectShift" transmissions, not traditional manuals, and they had nothing but problems with those. They don't make them anymore, either, so that tells you a lot about the build quality. Ford's engineers knowingly put dual clutch automatic transmissions in cars, like the Fiesta and Focus, knowing they were defective. It's just a crapshoot waiting to happen. It may be your crapshoot, if you don't heed Scotty's advice.

Swapping transmissions from one type to a completely different type is a gigantic pain in the rear, and then good luck on finding a shop competent enough to do all that without hiccups. It’s not worth the money!
.
Heck, swapping transmissions with the same type is already costly enough.
