I Have a 2014 Ford Fusion With a Brand New 1.5 Ecoboost Engine. The Last Engine Blew Up With 81,000 Miles On it, And I Can't Afford Another Vechile Right Now. So Im Curious What Exactly I Can Do To Make My New Engine , Be the Most Reliable It Can Be Into I Can Afford A More Reliable Car
1. Change your engine oil religiously, every 3000 miles.
2. Don't drive like a maniac.
3. Cross your fingers & hope for the best.
Also, even though we are talking about the engine, don’t neglect to change the automatic transmission fluid religiously (see your owner’s manual). I prefer to go more aggressive every 40,000-50,000 miles so the transmission can last as long as possible.
Change your oil ever 4k miles or so, don't stretch them out. Do not put major repairs into the car, save your money for a new used car.
I agree with DayWalker. The fate of the engine is tied to the well-being of the transmission. Be nice to both!
