2014 Highlander air only blowing out of forward vents

  • I have a 2014 highlander automatic with 70,000 miles. The air will only blow out the vents. It will not adjust to defrost or floor. I replaced the blend door actuator to no avail. Toyota dealership says it’s a servo motor door behind the blower motor and want to charge around $2000 to fix because it is labor intensive. Have you heard of this problem with the highlanders? We are the second owners and the vehicle has been very well maintained. Toyota offered zero help with any repairs on this. Thanks so much. Love your channel.

Defrost is the main issue

If you can’t live with it, I’d take it to a professional independent mechanic & get a full diagnosis & quote from them.

Realise however, tearing apart the dash may invite its own set of problems with plastic parts cracking, etc.

I would live with it if your vehicle still blows cold/hot air out of the forward vents.
