hello everyone, I have a 2014 Honda accord EAX with a 2.4 L earth dream engine. I bought this back in 2016 with 12,000 miles on it now it has 49,000 miles on it. It did this grinding noise right around 35,000 miles on it and I maintain this thing the way it supposed to be. I place full synthetic every 5000 miles on it like Scotty said why is it making this noise so soon?

How is it doing now? Does it effect your engine at all?

Please be more specific where the grinding is coming from. And when it happens.  It may not be the engine at all. Starters go bad and grind when the bendix springs in to turn the flywheel and doesn't disengage fast enough.  It could very likely be a starter if only heard at start up. Scotty recommended an engine oil additive I cant remember the name. I have tried Lubro Moly engine oil treatment and it does work and quiet things down. But with the low miles, I suspect a starter. Many people hold the key way too long on start up and damage the bendix.  It might not have been you, but the previous owner. When teeth are broken or missing,  when you start it up, it will grind because it isn't engaged with teeth on the flywheel on the engine.

I hear what you’re saying. If you look up at the video that the guy posted it is coming from about the same spot the passenger side of the engine. I do believe is a VBP actuator but I am concerned because it is such low mileage. I tried getting the dealership to replace it but they refused to take the engine apart. I just wanna know if it will damage the engine in the long run.
