Hey Scotty! My mom has a 2014 Honda Civic EXL with 110k miles and it has that CVT transmission that you warned us about. She hasn’t had any problems with it but she drives slow like an old lady. How much longer until that CVT transmission goes out?

The CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) reasons for failures are due to multitude of issues but to put it simply, the technology is new so of course they are going to have their issues, some manufacturers worse than others. If well to reasonably maintained, there should honestly be no worry associated with having a CVT transmission. To say how long it will last though, good luck?

Lol. It's in the name: "variable".
The #1 recommendation is to change the fluid often.
If Nissan's can hit 150k, Honda's can surely hit 200k.
Finger's crossed!

I myself have a 2014 with around 80k miles, no issues.
Some were bad apples.
Just change the CVT fluid every 25k miles.
