Hi everyone I am college student and trying to buy my first car. I wanted to purchase used cars Scotty recommended like the Toyota Corolla for the price and durability. Our family car is the 2001 Honda CR-V but my brother and I are quite tall and are both ready to drive but the car is pretty tight on our legs. I was looking at a used 2014  Hyundai Santa Fe ( Brandon Hyundai Dealership) since it has a bit more leg room it has 91,000 miles and is going for 12,000 I plan on saving to purchase with cash because I don’t ever want to finance a car. Is this a good deal or should I look into another make and model?

Thank You!

Melissa

Stay away from Hyundai/Kia. They are very poor quality vehicles, especially as they age and get into higher mileage. I would definitely pass.

Thank you!

Hyundai quality is just not good, especially after 2009.  And I would especially stay away from a higher mileage Hyundai.

Thank You!

That model was on the “fire risk” list so stay away. I had a 2013 Hyundai Sonata blow up on me a few years ago

For $12,000 a quick Google search reveals a lot of late model CR-Vs & RAV4s in Tampa, FL which should be plenty spacious for your requirements.

That Hyundai is just about ready to turn into an endless money pit at 100,000 miles and you (nor your brother) don’t want to be the one stuck with it..
