I've got a great who is selling his 2014 Sonata 2.0T with 155k miles for $5000. I am thinking of buying it and wondering if anyone has had bad or good times with this car.

Great who?

I would rather walk than buy anything made by Hyundai.

It will probably start falling apart soon if it has not already. Should be avoided, and $5000 is too much for it in any event.

Due to poor Hyundai quality (esp. if you plan to keep long term), we are currently not recommending any Hyundai Motor Group products.

Also, the 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty usually applies to the original owner.  Hyundai service and standing by their products is also lacking, and more times than not they have tried to get out of a warranty claim (some of my family, co-workers who had Hyundai products had to go through hell, and they ended getting rid of their vehicles and leaving the Hyundai brand altogether).  If there was any doubt, see below and do a search on this forum and you‘ll see the constant barrage of quality issues.

I used to have a 2015 Sonata, it was already falling apart. It was a base model with about $3,000 worth of body damage and I got $12,000 for it from carmax. They turned around and sold it for $15,000. If you don’t mind issues, that’s honestly a really good price for that car.

If love ur cars to catch fire, go ahead and buy it LOL. If u put don't like fires, run away, Sonatas are piles of junk and the 2.0T is a disastrous engine in that Hyundai.
