Looking at a nissan titan sv 4wd with 73,000 miles from a dealer for $23,000. It has the 5.6L v8. Is this a reliable truck?

Actually, and in this market, the 1st Gen Titan (covered a wide span from 2003-2015) are worth a look. 2nd Gen is fine too, but first Gen had the proven port injection (only) 5.6L V8 mated to the 5-speed automatic. There’s no reason if you pick the best model years (early issues in the generation were long resolved by 2012-2015) and maintain them properly that you could not get 150,000-250,000 miles out of them - some have gotten 250,000+ miles. The Nissan RWD platforms are generally better in terms of reliability than the FWD platforms. For list of issues see below:
