Hi Scotty,

Big admirer!

I recently got a 2015 Toyota Corolla with Automatic transmission CVT with 105ks miles on it. Engine light came on and Code P2820 showed up * Pressure control Solenoid J performance or stuck off. Should I try getting the solenoids changed or should I just look at getting a transmission from the junk yard and see my luck? I am surprised that a corolla 2015 with only abt 105ks miles having a transmission issue. I would expect that from Nissan's Jetco tranys. Any tip?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Before jumping to the conclusion, you should diagnose it correctly. Do you know when was the last time that the transmission was serviced?

Hi,

Thanks for the tip. I checked the report on the car and I was unable to find any service on the transmission. Would changing the solenoid be a fix or shoud I just go and get a used tranny with some warranty instead of spending money on the solenoids etc?

First change the ATF, clear the code and drive to see if it comes back or not. If the came back, you need to find a transmission shop for further diagnosis.
