Hi Scotty,

thank you for being you and being honest, I wish I knew your videos before I bought the car. I bought a new 2018 Subaru Impreza sport automatic transmission , has 43000 miles now only highway. I drive like normal,I flow all the maintenance regularly. I took my car for a break pad work, and inspection, the mechanic said that I have a oil leak between the end of the engine and transmission. He didn’t say anything else . When I park I don’t see any oil leak.

what should I do? Sale it? Or fix it? The problem the are no mechanic to trust this days.
thank you so much.

Oil leaks can start quite slow and take some time before oil drips on the ground. I would monitor the situation for now and check for drips under the car. A slow leak doesn't mean imminent disaster. If it does turn out there is a leak, it can be repaired when convenient. Don't get rid of your car because of something like that.

First, don't ever go back to that crooked shop. Find a good Subaru forum. There's likely going to be people in your area there and ask which shops are good and won't try to rip you off. Should you bring it someone else, and they say there is a leak have them show you what they're seeing.

If the rear main seal is leaking, you could try adding some AT205 into the engine oil (after you replaced the oil).

I'd find a more honest mechanic & fix it (if there actually is a leak). Don't say you think you have a leak, just tell them you want to have it gone through before "giving it to your brother" or something like that.

Sounds like he's trying to rip you off if you don't have any leaks & you haven't noticed the level drop.

Couldn't agree more here with @RusselKelly81. I was about to suggest a very similar solution. Don't sell a good car just because someone tried to scam you into leaving it for longer and more expensive service.

Believe it or not there are still a few mechanics who have some integrity and are there to help you not steal your hard earned cash. They're not all crooks although sadly there are quite a few who don't exactly put work ethics first and those are the ones who ruin it for all of us and give a bad rap to the entire category.

Depending on where you live, users in this community might be able to recommend people they've come to experience more than once and that they know for a fact to be knowledgeable and honest... give it a try

Well is the car losing oil?  Is it low when you check it?  Also crank it up for a while in you driveway and then see if you have any oil dripping.  Should not be leaking with that few miles but it is a subaru and they are very overrated.

Just want to say thank you so much  to everyone trying to help me, and give me a feedback. I appreciate your time and help.

I do not lose any oil at all, I do oil change every 5000 miles. I will try to check a different mechanic. Keep giving me all the advices please. Thank you again.

It is amazing that they feel they need to tell you that you have an oil LEAK instead of an oil WEEP. As cars age they can start to WEEP oil BUT its a money maker to scare people. Just keep an eye on the ground for drips and the oil level.
